You really don’t need an excuse to create a delicious frozen Greek yogurt recipe! Who doesn’t love a frozen treat?! Not to mention…what mom doesn’t love when it’s both kid-approved AND nutritious?! This registered dietitian sure does.
Summer is finally here and I cannot tell you how excited I am for it! It has been a LONG winter and we’re all craving and enjoying the nice weather and outdoor activities. What goes hand-in-hand with warm summer days? Refreshing, sweet, cool foods like popsicles, smoothies, and ice cream. It’s important to make sure that kids stay cool, nourished and hydrated when it’s hot out (especially if they’re being really active), so snacks and treats like these do triple duty. What I love about this frozen Greek yogurt recipe is that it’s as fun as ice cream, but nutritious enough to be snack-worthy. Because it’s full of fruit, it’s incredibly nutritious, naturally sweet and hydrating!
This Mixed Berry Greek Frozen Yogurt is FULL of antioxidants, protein, and calcium. Perfect as an alternative to ice cream or a popsicle to switch things up, and we find that it’s best served in a bowl (a cone can get a bit messy!). It’s also best to serve right away, but if you’re going to freeze it, make sure that you take it out a good 20 minutes before serving to allow it to thaw a little.
